As the Chair of the society, my principal purpose is to provide strategy, direction and leadership for the Exec’s time in office. This means chairing our weekly Exec meetings and being part of the organisation for all our events, as well as implementing new ideas and points of focus to evolve Warwick Left. It is my job to stay involved in every aspect of what we do and give my team the help they need to carry out their work, from our political work and campaigns to our socials and sports events, with a focus on creating a welcoming left-wing space that makes an impact.

As Deputy Chair I’m here to support the Chair and wider society, supporting governance, and decision making, serving as a spokesperson for wider exec and members of the society, occasionally stepping in when the Chair is unavailable.
As one half of the Charities & Welfare duo, I help organise events to fundraise and bring awareness to good causes, often looking for charities which align with our values. Once a week we will hold a welfare hour, it is in this and the role itself we strive to make this a welcoming, friendly society with chances for people to talk to us about anything.
Tying these roles together, as women’s officer I wish to build on creating a welcoming community through ensuring everyone’s voice is heard, particularly those of women who are often overlooked in politics.

As Treasurer & Secretary, I have to keep up to date with everything going on in the society so that everything keeps in order. I organise our exec meetings and take minutes. It’s my job to look after our society finances too!
As Ethnic Minorities Officer, I ensure that those within Warwick Left Society who identify as an ethnic minority are heard, respected and represented in the society and the wider university.

Hi, my name is Aaron and I’m one of the External Campaigns Officers! My role, along Katie, is to organise canvassing sessions for local councillors, MPs and political figures that we, as a society, ideologically align with. We do lots of work with Zarah Sultana and Cllr Grace Lewis, two figures who our society actively supports due to our political similarities! We also occasionally do work the with Greens, ensuring a united left across Warwick, Leamington and Coventry, fighting off the threat of the far-right. Door knocking can be extremely fun, so I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at one of our weekly canvassing sessions soon! 🙂

As internal campaigns officer I run campaigns within the university, Student Union and on campus, often working with other societies in the left coalition on a wide range of topics. Current campaigns Warwick Left Society is leading or assisting on include register to vote, end period poverty, anti-spiking, pressuring the university to cease support of Israel and encouraging trade union membership.

As the trade union liaison officer, I work with trade unions on local, regional and national scale. I ensure that the society supports campaigns, encourages student solidarity efforts, attends picket lines, and otherwise advocates for workers’ rights with commitment to Labour movements.
As the disabilities and mental health officer, I represent physically and mentally disabled students to ensure that the society remains inclusive, welcoming and accessible to all.

As LGBTQIA+ Officer, I represent and support LGBTQIA+ students within Warwick Left Society, working to ensure our spaces and campaigns are inclusive, affirming and welcoming to all queer identities. I’m committed to making sure LGBTQIA+ voices are heard and empowered across the society and wider university. I also help create safe, supportive spaces and to push for LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility on campus and beyond.
