Welcome to Warwick Left Society
Who We Are
Warwick Left Society is a student-led community at the University of Warwick. We focus on progressive politics, solidarity, and activism. Our goal is to create an open and welcoming space where students can learn, share, and act on the issues that matter most to them.
What We Stand For
We believe in equality, justice, and inclusion. Our society supports diverse voices and encourages open conversations. We want political engagement to feel accessible, not intimidating. Whether you are new to politics or already active, you will find a place with us.
What We Do
Our events range from friendly discussions and speaker evenings to hands-on campaigns. We address issues such as climate action, workers’ rights, and global justice. These events give students the chance to explore ideas, ask questions, and learn from inspiring speakers.
At the same time, we provide opportunities for direct action. Members can join campaigns that make a difference both on campus and beyond. By taking part, you can connect with like-minded students and help create positive change.
Community and Social Life
Activism is important, but so is building a community. That’s why we also host socials such as film nights, quizzes, and informal meet-ups. These events help members connect outside of politics and form lasting friendships. Working together is easier when people feel supported and included.
Why Join Us
If you want to explore progressive ideas, campaign for change, and meet new people, Warwick Left Society is the place for you. You can choose your level of involvement—attend one event, take part in a campaign, or join our organising team. Everyone is welcome.
Get Involved
Join us today and be part of a student movement that stands for fairness, inclusion, and solidarity. Together, we can build a more just and supportive community at Warwick.

Come join us on Friday 30th January in S0.18 at 4pm!
Brian Leishman is a left-wing Labour MP, part of the Socialist Campaign Group, who since his 2024 Election to Parliament has consistently challenged the Labour Government in order to fight for the issues his constituents care about.
Losing the whip in July 2025 for opposing the governments welfare cuts, he has continued to press the government on issues like winter fuel payments, digital ID, promoting job security and democracy.
Now back in the Labour Party, Leishman has sought to keep the party in line with its core values and those which he was elected on – we cannot wait to hear from him!
Given that CEC election nominations have opened, we are proudly hosting an assembly to discuss ideas and inaugurate the presence of Your Party at Warwick’s campus! 📢
We are fortunate to be accompanied by incredible speakers, including Die Linke’s Erik Uden, Your Party Youth and Students’ Lucy Rebecca Cannon, and Graham Jones, a CEC candidate from the Grassroots Left Slate.
You do not need to be a member of the party to attend the assembly – anyone is welcome to participate. 🗳️
We will post a link for anyone to join online in advance of the assembly, but only students of the University of Warwick will be allowed to join in person, in H0.03 (Humanities).
This will be an opportunity to deliberate on various issues, including the direction of Your Party, the organisational strategy of it, building the party from the bottom up, its potential to collaborate with other socialist movements, how the Left can unite under the banner of socialism, the socialist movement more generally, fighting fascism, and the party’s unique policies. 📑
If there is a debate motion that you would like to propose for discussion, please use the link to the form in our bio, and time will be assigned to it accordingly. 🔗
We’ll be hosting the Assembly on Tuesday 27th January in H0.03 and online, from 5pm.
After the Assembly, we will have a presentation on the history of the labour movement, commemorating a century since the General Strike. See you there! ✊ 🚩
